recovers on it's own and I can work on
that machine and do things like find / over ssh without losing
connectivity. Fixing the timeouts will be another problem that needs
to be addressed later.

The kernel doesn't teat it in any special way.
However I have a Dell PE2850 with PCI-E and 4.11 is using it just fine.
The existing PCI code doesn't know it's special so it just lets the Bios
set it up.
