Hey Brandon,
Have you check'ed if you've got a /etc/resolv.conf file ? (inside the jail?)
Might just be that.

first step, inside the jail:
ls -al /etc/resolv.conf
cat /etc/resolv.conf
if you got nothing, just go for something like:
echo "nameserver 8.8.8.8" >> /etc/resolv.conf
either way, ping 8.8.8.8 should return something.
