Ah, I see. I did indeed misunderstand.
However, I don't think that'd fix the issue of VLAN on if_bridge interfaces.
The problem is that the bridge checks

I think I will need to look at the code. I thought that a bridge would see
packets only from a bridged virtual/vlan interface (such as the proposed
igb0.0)
