Maybe the whole case is worth it to give ezjail a try.
The newest release has
1st of all, (re)design your system.
2nd, create separate partition for your jail(s)
3rd, if (I were you, and) the jail is not too complex, recreate from
scratch. (You get a clean jail :)) )
