I just did that upgrade (been with freebsd since 1.1!) and everything
seems pretty smooth. I did a 2.2->3.1 upgrade on another machine so
I'm probably glossing over some aout issues (mainly that you have to
find them and move them into a separate directory).
One thing that confused me for several
I needed MPPE to tunnel into work and found:
http://www.moretonbay.com/vpn/releases/ppp-2.3.10-openssl-norc4-mppe.patch.gz
which applies to ppp-2.3.10 and adds MS CHAP v1 and v2 and MPPE to
pppd and the related kernel code. Imagine my surprise when I found
that only the CHAP parts were portable
I'd like to preserve this for posterity, so I'm hoping the list will accept
this (I'm not subscribed) so that others may benefit from the archives.
I hope no one else ever has to spend the 10 hours on this I did!
