Hey all,
Does anyone have any idea what the process "1820 bpbkar" is???
Got the infamous page fault trap 12 indicating this is current process.
I cannot find bpbkar ANYWHERE, on my system or searching the FreeBSD
site. We are screwing around with the ISO family capabilities rather
strongly so I
me about 2 years worth of
work!

I just noticed that someone else ran into a problem with the solution
"Disable PNP OS in the BIOS". I too ran into that some time back for a
very different problem. If it weren't for the great help from this list,
I would probably still be chasing that one down.
Now I haven't installed FreeBSD fo
Hey all,
Made a mistake and ran across what may be a bug in mount but am not
sure. Now this happened on FreeBSD 3.2 (no comments please, I've already
given the powers that be plenty of comments about this).

I just heard someone say that they believed that the kernel was still
running after a halt is issued, but just cannot (won't?) create any
processes. So while I realize this person may not know what they are
talking about (and am showing my own ignorance for even listening), the
question is...

Hi all.
Does anyone have ANY suggestions on how to determine where the
kernel/program is when the system freezes??? Even hardware solutions,
such as the infamous paperclip across two pins will do.
I am trying to track down what appears to be a kernel freeze problem,
but alas, debuggers, et.al. a

It is the lowest numeric address (before _start and main) so I would

Sorry - I'm not looking for someone to debug my code (I am actually a
fairly experienced C++ programmer on *gasp* SVR4 which means I create
errors only God can figure out). I apologize if my earlier request
appeared that way (got a few choice comments from some hackers).

Have a tricky problem. I am developing code to transfer data over AF_ISO
family sockets. Standard stuff, socket, bind, etc. Nothing tricky. Being
a good little boy I am using C++ (gpp delivered with OS) for
transportability (read make sure everyone else faces the same stupid
problems I did).

I am running a lab with 43 FreeBDS machines and will be adding about 20
more in the near future. ALL these machines are absolutely identical
except for IP address and machine name. To speed up the adding of new
machines, I envision making a duplication station, where I would add a
"new" disk as a
