Why is the current revision of the Seamonkey port "2.23.2" rather than
2.24 (which Seamonkey sent me an automatic reminder that I needed)?
Currently it is not working for me because the file libcairo.so.2 is
desired by libxul.so and not found,so it can't load XPCOM (according
to the error message
The port still looks for 2.23.2 rather than 2.24 (which, along with
2.25 Beta 1,is what is available at the seamonkey-project.org site).
Trying to upgrade it with Portmaster generates error messages
1)complaining that the port asks for gtk20 which does not exist,
2)listing Mozilla bulletins on vuln
After a prolonged development pause,Seamonkey 2.35 and 2.38 were
released this month, but neither has shown up in the Ports Collection.
When will an update of Seamonkey be available, considering that
2.33 has such outstanding issues that the last port upgrades
failed and I had to redo it with pkg?
While /usr/ports/UPDATING mentioned a seamonkey 2.38 port on October 6th
the port itself doesn't seem to exist yet!
When's it coming?

Today I updated Seamonkey to 2.33.1_9 via pkg
(which failed via portmaster),which also entailed
reinstalling 15 other packages.
When will a newer version of Seamonkey be in a
port that installs let alone a package?

We are once again seeing a new revision of the Seamonkey port
(2.39_3)
refuse to install via Portmaster because of known vulnerabilities
(which presumably affect the older version as well).
I suppose I'll have to wait for pkg to catch up to run the
update?

A new patch for seamonkey2.39 was in this morning's ports,
along with one for firefox and some associated files...this
despite 2.40 being the current seamonkey for months.
As ever seamonkey crashed portmaster rather than complete
so I am prepared to wait for pkg.
However,the associated files that
I see yet another patch of seamonkey 2.39 has uploaded, months after 2.40
was released...but now that icu has updated to version 57 Seamonkey's
libxul.so generates error messages because it searches for
/usr/local/lib/libicu*
files that specify version 55 that are no longer there.
