Seamonkey 2.49.5

Those of us who were ever going to willingly switch off the direct line of descent from Netscape would have done so a long time ago...the removal of Seamonkey from the ports tree has left an irate rump without a way to upgrade. I have some old copies of the ports tree...what would be involved i

Seamonkey 2.24

2014-02-10 Thread Louis Epstein
Why is the current revision of the Seamonkey port "2.23.2" rather than 2.24 (which Seamonkey sent me an automatic reminder that I needed)? Currently it is not working for me because the file libcairo.so.2 is desired by libxul.so and not found,so it can't load XPCOM (according to the error message

Seamonkey Port Problems

2014-02-14 Thread Louis Epstein
The port still looks for 2.23.2 rather than 2.24 (which, along with 2.25 Beta 1,is what is available at the seamonkey-project.org site). Trying to upgrade it with Portmaster generates error messages 1)complaining that the port asks for gtk20 which does not exist, 2)listing Mozilla bulletins on vuln

Seamonkey 2.35/2.38 ports

2015-09-30 Thread Louis Epstein
After a prolonged development pause,Seamonkey 2.35 and 2.38 were released this month, but neither has shown up in the Ports Collection. When will an update of Seamonkey be available, considering that 2.33 has such outstanding issues that the last port upgrades failed and I had to redo it with pkg?
