Note regarding the cargo build: I actually ran "cargo build --release -j 1" in
order not to trip on the indefinite wait.

But it is not the root cause of the problem, because if I build the port using
"make MAKE_JOBS_NUMBER_LIMIT=1" (in /usr/ports/devel/rust-cbindgen

That hangup is a qemu problem, not in any way specific to your
activity.
But I do not use qemu and my tests that got this the huge
