I followed Greg Minshall's instruction (FreeBSD-gnome 11/15/2007) and
succeeded in generating xulrunner 1.8.1.3, but it lacks libjavaxpcomglue.so,
etc. and I cannot run it as eclipse plugin.

I updated eclipse-devel to 3.3.1.1 which is the latest stable version and am

versioning of plugins with eclipse-devel332.tgz.

Is it very difficult to use 3.5.1 source instead of 3.5.0?
Eclipse generally launch x.x.0 in June and update to x.x.1 in Sept., and there
is already 3.5.1.
If possible, it will be much better to use 3.5.1 source for porting instead
of 3.5.0.

I am trying Galileo (Eclipse 3.5.0) based on Steph's patch on 8.0-release w/
gnome 2.28.
It looks running OK, but if I try to update/install plugins "finish" button
does not respond and I cannot proceed - I cannnot install plugins.
I am not sure if it is because of gnome-2.28 related.

It starts and goes to banner, but it dies before having screen.

I set JAVA_HOME to openjdk6 and it works without any problem. I tried
openjdk7 and it starts up, but it doesnot allow to connect to internet and

Yes, the plugin I installed is Red Hat's jboss tools, maybe some of them
calls xulrunner from inside. I do not need to run all of those jboss tools,
but I do not want eclipse to die when I install jboss tools - it dumps core and

I cleaned up all eclipse related files, .eclipse, workspace, and re-install
eclipse-devel from updated port/java/eclipse-devel and tried subversive plugin
from helios site. It dumped core at re-startup after installing subversive
pulugins.
core file says something goes wrong at calling ld-el
I confirmed that it works very well under mint R8.2 environment including
subversive plugin.
I had had problems with 3.6.1, but I found it is because of my environment by
confirming its behavior under R8.2 mint environment.

buffer pointer problem of realpath() wrapper, but still I have a core dump with

I tried Mike's patch and found that it based on gmake while recent my tgz
uses make, and it cuases an error. I also confirmed what Mike is pointing and
confirmed that his change enables to compile with WITHOUT_GNOMEVFS. (Confirmed
after executing pkg_delete -f gnome-vfs).
My tgz file is up
As Mike pointed, original patch comes from Dan and Dan needs to be included.

I think that I made it, at least successful compilation with both
jdk15/jdk16. However, I have not run them as I am using eclipse-europa itself
for eclipse porting which I do not want to disturb.

I confirmed that your patch works for both jdk15 and jdk16. And I replaced
my patch to yours in eclipse-europa-331.tgz.
I think that it is now better than 3.3.0 in eclipse-devel.

Greg kindly updated eclipse-devel to 3.3.1 today.
I hard coded jdk1.6.0 mistakenly with 3.3.0 and it refers to jdk1.6.0 header
codes to compile. I fixed that bug with 3.3.1 and now it will be compiled
cleanly with either jdk1.5.0 or jdk1.6.0.

Are you using eclipse-devel without any problems?
I want you to check if wtp (web page editor) works OK at your environment.
I thought that it worked, but now I knew that it does not work. The .log tells
that it has some conflict with other plugins as shown below, but I cannot
ident
I think that it is because of org.eclipse.visualeditor-1.3.0.200709121813.zip.
By disabling ve, I could run web page editor.
It, visualeditor, is seemingly causing conflicts with wtp and we may need to
wait for official one of visual editor.

It looks like that you need more memory spaces for eclipse.
Would you try to run them with the following options in
/usr/local/eclipse*/eclipse.ini?
