Hi,
I had "kmem_map too small" panic on 5.0-CURRENT/i386 as of Dec. 19 2002.
It often occurred when the machine was running under heavy system
loads (e.g. make -j20 release).
|panic: kmem_malloc(4096): kmem_map too small: 275378176 total allocated

Hi,
it's my first upgrade of a FreeBSD box. So I copied stable-supfile from
/usr/share/examples/cvsup to /etc/cvsup and changed the following line:
*default release=cvs tag=5.0-RC2
When I start cvsup /etc/cvsup it wants to delete all src files. Now I'm
not aware, whether it just wants to delete

Hi!
I have problems to boot the CD-based Kernel on the images for
FreeBSD 5.0 DP2,RC1 and RC2.
As ACPI is mostly the problem i have tried it with "unset acpi_load" but
to no avail.
It seems as if the Kernel probes the hardware and then there comes a
kernel panic.
4.7 runs smoothly and without

With the cd of the 4.4-release and the 4.6-release of the o boot without
problem.

Hi,
I just tried to compile 5.0-RC2 from using a recently cvsupped copy using the
RELENG_5_0 tag and found that src/sys/geom/geom_slice.c does not compile.
It seems that the version of geom_slice.h which was tagged as RELENG_5_0 is out of
sync with the .c file. Getting the HEAD revision of geo

Any non-zero number of them is too many. Personally, I also

Hi,
As far as I've read it should be possible to upgrade from any 4.x version to 5.0.
I tried that, and things get caught at using gperf to build cc1plus.
rigging the Makefile it turns out that the gperf used is not the one in:
/usr/obj/usr/src/i386/usr/bin/gperf
but just the regular
Hi Aurelien
I was able to get X running once I recompiled (the server) with
-fno-merge-constants. Unfortunately, I do not know if it has anything to
do with the GCC ABI issue.

Greetings everyone:
I have a Dell Inspiron 8200 running -current and I was wondering
how do I disable the machine from suspending when the LCD lid is closed
but have the screen turn off instead. Thanks.
This is the sysctl hw.acpi output:

1) How did you upgrade?
2) What's the name of your machine?

Hoi,
I've tried to upgrade to -current a few minutes ago.
Before upgrading I had FreeBSD 4.7-RELEASE-p2
After a "make buildworld / make buildkernel /make installkernel"
and erbooting, I still have FreeBSD 4.7-RELEASE-p2
Now, when I try to do a "make installworld" it stops with
the following erro

Sounds like you are rebooting with the old kernel
