Lack of /dev/vtvga0?

a framebuffer device available (vtvga0 is initialized, but there is no corresponding /dev/vtvga0). Isn't it possible to use vt_vga in pixel mode and directly write to the kernel console framebuffer? Any insight would be appreciated! Mahmoud Al-Qudsi NeoSmart Technologies
