backed out those changes and
remade libwrap, sshd starting working as usual.
All this using only IPv4 of course.

So it seems that only initially something weird is going on with the
tun0 device. I've done the whole test three times and it's reproducable.

ifconfig xl0 down to disable the cable modem interface completely.
Anybody any idea where I can start to debug this weird problem?

Guido van Rooij ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) is working on it and he recently
showed me ipfilter 3.2.2 (I think) working as a loadable module for
FreeBSD-current. As soon as it's fully tested he'll commit it.
