This sounds like an issue with the bhyve capsicum work. I've cc'd Allan
and Peter who might be able to help track that down. It might be useful
if you can run bhyve under ktrace, e.g.:
sudo ktrace -i -t p sh /usr/

Is someone playing with Denverton CPU On FreeBSD?
I'm trying to use serial console on FreeBSD with Denverton CPU but doesn't
work.
I can see the boot process but it stops and I do not have the login prompt.
My keyboard doesn't answer as well.
