so I built btxldr with BTXLDR_VERBOSE and had to resort to taking pictures of
the monitor, my problem machined is passing the bootdev for CDROM's in the 0x90
range (scsi is 0x9f and ide is 0x90) while my workin

I haven't had a chance to try every Mac in my office, but did try 3:

Same result as my MacPro1,1. These machines all have EFI64 though, so I guess

My previous hypothesis was a dead end. freebsd-head correctly sets the sector
size, implying bc_add() is called bypassing the '0x80 + unit' bits.
interestingly setting the SCSI ID of my SCSI CDROM from 1 to 0
