I just have noticed that running "kbdcontrol -b normal" on any other virtual
tty, makes the ring work on that virtual tty. It sounds like a click after that
command.

I would expect that too but I couldn't make it ring in other virtual ttys. It
only works on ttyv0 and on Firefox browser when Ctrl+F search didn't find
anything. S

I have made change below but now the vt bell doesn't ring anymore. That's
releng/14.1 source code branch and that's the only change i have made.

pc speakers that i had ordered did arrive just now, i tested the `vt` bell and
it works. I didn't apply the patch that changes the bell pitch.
i had to set "kern.vt.enable_bell=1" in /boot/loader.conf. S

Yes - beep(1) is now in the base system. The missing piece is to connect the
event from vt to triggering beep.

Both sc(4) and vt(4) have kernel support only for the "pc speaker," calling
sysbeep().
