Just boot from official 12.2-RELEASE iso without any problems.
Also binary upgrade (booting 11.4-RELEASE and using freebsd-update)
went well on this machine.

firmware can boot with using 'uefi only', 'legacy only', or 'both'
For 'both', legacy boot priority is preset to 'legacy first' and CSM support
can't be disabled(?).
