Yes, this is on amd64. I could paste the log of a verbose boot from a
non-broken kerenl, but would that be of any use? To capture a boot log up the
hang would require serial or firewire console, whic

This might be a duplicate of bug #156081. If I remove the UTF-8 characters from
the author's names on line 151 the problem disappears.
Using mandoc also works (though the UTF-8 characters are shown
