Thank you for the clarification! (Firebird written in C/C++ and 3.0 have
a new OO API, from this combination I think the new API is C++. :-) ).

While browsing the "packages" directory I came across *.fpm files. What
are they for, and what process creates them?
For example:
[ packages/fcl-pdf/fcl-pdf-x86-64-freebsd.fpm ]-
