Yes, think
It seems all those emails paid off then. :-) I've sent loads of
emails requesting they consider including FPC and Lazarus as
development tools. Why must C++ and Mono developers be so lucky and
not us!

I think this is great news for Freepascal...

always download the full zipped sources updated daily from our FTP server.

Note that some proxies require special authentication methods (i.e. not
just username/password), and it may not be possible to get SVN working
with these (with reasonable effort, at least), unless you can change the
proxy configuration to something else. Specifically, I'm talking about

This has happened before and some people could work around it using
the port 8080.
Setting the proxy in "servers" in fact started the communication to the
SVN server.but nonetheless it ends up with an error (see the other mail)

That is the error I get too, because of a broken or misconfigured proxy.

There is a typo: use http://svn.freepascal.org
Right That is what I did. with the correct address I get the error
message after a waiting time of about a minute. Using a wrong address
(like snv...) I get a different error message within a second.
So the DNS can resolve the name.

Unfortunately I suppose I can't access a Version Control System as
here we ave a Firewall that only allows to do http and ftp via a proxy.
IIRC SVN also can use the http protocol (exactly for this reason).
