be even nicer if somehow the Class value could be constrained as well,
for instance, the arguments needs to be
of type Class, but the Class needs to be a subclass of Event.
I don't have an immediate idea for a clean solution to that, so if anyone has
ideas, please chime in.
rthy of inclusion to Falcon sooner than later.
I'm going to make an experimental project in my whiteboard with tests. If it
gets accepted we can merge it into the Falcon trunk.

Hi,
You might want to look at the flex-config.xml file in the framework directory
as it contains:
For instance

I think this is where it belongs to.

I guess the build.properties will not be part of the official distribution,
will it?

Betreff: Metadata containing SDKs minimal playerglobal version
as a dependency to the
framework. As the Apache SDKs are no longer shipping the playerglobals and the
runtimes, is there another way to get this information? Is there any metadata
like the flex-sdk-description.xml that contains this? If not how about adding
this information to that file. I

I tried compiling using all three the following code, and was able to

Not 100% sure but it's possible it could be a compiler issue.

Issue Type
Sure, I will find the code again and post it somewhere. It is just a bunch of
prototype code, but here is the gist:
I search all of the classes and I find all matching metadata, for example
properties noted with [Inject]. I build a small class that has a reference to
each of these classes
Bumping this thread.
Michael, your note about post-processing metadata into an actionscript
class and hence speeding things up without having to use describeType()
sounds very interesting. Can you please post more info?
I always wondered about how using descriptType() affects performance. Your

I did some experiments a while back where I post-processed metadata into a
ActionScript class and then included it in compilation. Basically, I had a
class that referenced all places a given metadata tag was being used (like for
injection points). Versus using describeType, I could speed up
There was a compiler change a while back. Basically, if a library forces a
given piece of metadata to be kept, then that setting is inherited by the
project. So, when flexunit forces [Test] to be kept in the library, all
projects that include flexunit's swc get that setting

@Michael: Wasn't there some kind of compiler change regarding this?
I can't properly recall it.
However: As far as I know: the standard meta tags (like bindable) do
get compiled into the code and are readable with describeType. swfs
are readable like external fi
Sure metadata is important and must be kept, I was just thinking about
metadata used only by IDEs and not required during runtime like the 'Style'
tag. But if they are not included, then the issue does not exist. Thanks.
