The mx:Repeater is a little bit different and an interesting one. If you look
in UIComponent, there's some specific exceptions for handling Repeater. I
think it's more along the lines of an earlier thread here discussing possibly
providing conditionals and loops in markup.

some lack of functionality in spark components which is available in mx.
