Alternatively, you can search and install Compatibility pack of Office 2007.
After the installation, whenever you'll open Office 2007 file in Office
2003, the file would automatically convert and open in Office 2003.

If you open the file in 2007 and File>Save As to 2003 format
that will solve the issue.
