Apart from VLookup you can also use simple..
*=LOOKUP(2,1/($A$2:$A$8=A11),$B$2:$B$8)*
*=INDEX($B$2:$B$8,MATCH($A11,$A$2:$A$8,0))*
*=OFFSET($B$1,MATCH($A11,$A$2:$A$8,0),0)
