You can use the below formula to get 2nd highest number.
=large(range,2)
Note : range can be continues cells or selected cells like - A1:A5 or A1,
A4,A5.

Try this for finding 2nd largest value, this works even if you have zeros &
duplicate nos in range, its array formula...
=MAX(IF(A1:A10<>MAX(A1:A10),A1:A10))
