I think you can actually do this without a macro, but use Excel formulas instead. I have a calendar that for each quarter, I count the days that are identified with "V" for "vacation day" or "H" for "Half day". then, I use: =COUNTIF($D6:$Z11,"*H")*0.5+COUNTIF($D6:$Z11,"*V") to count the "H's" and
