Hi all;
I need to read my mail from an IMAP server using IMAPS (IMAP over SSL),
but there is a firewall in the way (that I don't have control over).
What I am able to do is use SSH to create a tunnel to a remote system
beyond the firewall, then forward the IMAPS through that tunnel. It
works gre

Hi Peter; glad it (sort of) worked for you. I

Hi all;
I've put up a page describing how to use my makefile to build the very
latest Evolution, checked out from Subversion. If you want to have
up-to-the-minute Evolution, Evolution Exchange, etc. versions for
testing or to get the latest bugfixes, this will hopefully make it easy.
You can fin
Question: is it possible for Evolution to keep contact lists on an
Exchange server? It doesn't seem to be and I'm wondering if it's a bug
or "expected behavior".
When I create an Exchange account and then go to Contacts, I can see two
entries there: "Global Address List", and "Contacts". The GAL

Oh yeah, that's very bad. Things will definitely not work.
However, on my system that library is happily sitting
in /opt/evo/lib/evolution/2.12. ex

I suspect it was related to the problem with evo install failing. This

Hm. I don't have folders that big but others have posted here with much
Hi all;
I'm running a 100% debuggable version of Evo (plus gtkhtml, e-d-s,
evo-exchange, etc.) all the time now, and I'm running it with full
logging on at all times as well. I was hoping this would help me create
useful and usable problem reports in bugzilla when "odd things"
happened.
However,

No. First, "yum" only installs already-built RPM packages, and these
are source packages. Someone will need to take these source packages
and build them for your d
Hi all;
I recently made some enhancements to my makefile to build Evo (and other
tools: libsoup, gtkhtml, e-d-s, evo, evo-exchange, evo-webcal) from SVN:

It will create a new SVN workspace for each package if you don't have
one; update the contents
Hi all;
This seemed useful to some people last time, so I'm doing it again now.
I've been using Evolution from SVN for a few months now tracking the
latest changes and overall I've been REALLY happy: so many things are
much better, especially with Exchange integration, than in 2.10 or any

Hi all;
I just uploaded a new version of my Makefile to build Evo from SVN.
This version allows for building the current SVN trunk HEAD (up until
today I was building on the 2.20 branch).
Thanks to Reid Thompson for pointing out that gnome-icon-theme is now
necessary for the build. I also added
