My problem was that I could not see any of the plugins. The problem was
solved by installing evolution-plugins (which was not included by
default in Kubuntu 5.10).

Can you file a bug on Connector component in bugzilla.gnome.org
with the traces?
Can you just disable "ITIP formatter" plugin and see the behavior?
