I have the same problem since v. 3.12.9 is the one shipped with Debian
Jessie (oldstable), and upgrading it require to upgrade the entire Gnome
DE.

summary tried to free from memory message infos which had not been
needed

status bar. Sometimes in multiple instances (shows up multiple items
simultaneously in the status bar next to each other) It does not keep
evolution from working, but once displayed requires a shutdown to stop
it. U
