Hi,
I finally got things working with the following:
I create a second account for the same inbox and, this time, with the
default settings. It turned out that it worked then. It was strange
though that my first account was not visible in the left pane now. So I
deleted that second account. After

I use Evolution for my IMAP account. The inbox there contains several
folders. The inbox almost no email. All are in those folders.
When I search with the search bar in the whole account, then only a
subset of the hits are shown. In a specific example, only one email is
shown in the results
