You can import directly from Outlook to Thunderbird, and then to
Evolution. But, in my case, the process took too long, because it
started (don't know why) importing the Exchange public folders (which I
didn't want). I also had some problems with the plai-text messages that
contained accented chara

I had a ton of email in my Outlook folders that I wanted to import
into Evolution, but it doesn't do that. The recommended method was to
convert to some other, supported email program and then convert from
there to Evolution.
