Filters depend on flag new which will be set only when first time a
particular mail is fetched from server. If any other mail
client/evolution is used to check mails before its checked in evolution
in which filters are set, filters may not work.

Yes exchange-connector crashes frequently in SUSE 10.0 bcoz of libsoup
issue mainly . This bug has been fixed in evolution 2.4.2. If you update
to evolution 2.4.2, the crash your seeing should be resolved. Make sure
the libsoup version which you will be using is libsoup-2.2.90.

If you are using IMAP account and only local calendars are available,
dont use 'Purge'. At present purge is deleting events of all calendars.
This looks like a bug, 'Purge' should delete events in the selected
calendar.
