[Evolution] Getting evolution to work with a web proxy

I've got Evolution 2.4 running on SuSE 9.3. I know in previous versions, Evolution would honor the proxy environment variables http_proxy and https_proxy. That does not seem to be the case with 2.4. Anyone else having this problem or fixed it somehow? Thanks! Don __
