Tried your approach, but I can't trigger the communication as Evo won't
let me edit an event. Of course I do get the whole connection log for
the sync. Is there anything I should look out for? What seems relevant
is this part of the console output.

I am using Evolution 3.12.11 and annoyingly, with *every* email I
receive there is the following error:
"Execution of filter XYZ failed: Empty cache file: /path/to/the/file"
After some experimentation, I think these are the relevant facts:
