This should not happen, last I checked. This usually happens, when the
password supplied is wrong. You could debug this -

Before Evo can open an attachment it has to save it somewhere, and I
suspect that
Just installed Evolution 3.10.4 onto Ubuntu 14.04, all done using the
Ubuntu Software Centre.
When I attempt to open email attachments I get "Permission Denied', however
I can use 'Save As', and open the saved version.
