For some reason, every now and again evolution (2.2.1) clears out my inbox,
presenting me with a blank space, where there should be lots of messages.
They have not been actually deleted (if I use MS web exchange, I'll get
them); it's just that evolution, for some reason, won't display them.

Hi,
I'm wondering if I'm the only one having this problem. When I create an
appointment on an Exchange Calendar through Evolution, it appears
locally in the Evolution calendar view until I quit Evolution. Then
it's gone. At no time is it ever actually published on the Exchange
server, and I mis
Hmmm.
Is this on anyone's radar or is there any talk of doing something about it
in Evolution if the libical group is still wrestling with it (I see a lot
of confusion on that bug link, but no committed resoolution, but maybe
it's just late on a Friday...)?
Thanks,

I would prefer if it would also sort the uncollapsed threads as well
though. Do you know whether this is going to be implemented at some
point? Should I open a bug report?

Thunderbird is closer to Evo in philosophy than Gmail is, and many of

In 2.8.x onwards, if the thread is collapsed, the date of the thread is
considered to be the date of the most recent message in the thread. But
if it is expanded, it doesnt follow this. You can collapse all threads
(View->Collapse All Threads) may be once in a while to know, if any new
messages pop

FWIW, I filed a bug a few months ago to have a downward arrow

Totally agree. I'm nervous every time I search. Should I use the Search
menu, or the Search box? Do they do the same thing or not? What about
Advanced Search? Is it going to make me give a name to save the search
or can I use it just once? etc. etc.
The whole thing needs to be rethought IMHO.
BTW
Hi,
I've been an Evolution user for a long time. The main reason I use
Evolution is for its search/indexing features, since I have huge mail
boxes and like to be able to search through them quickly.
In recent versions of Evolution (I guess beyond 2.7, I'm using 2.8.1)

Sorry if this is obtuse or has been covered before I joined, but we are
rolling out Evolution on our new lab systems (Linux/PC dual-boot).
I am wondering if it has any issues with (or patch for) the new DST rules
or if it solely uses the system time, unlike Outlook:

Hello list,
I sort my INBOX by date and group messages by thread. A new message
which is not part of a thread gets placed as expected at the bottom of
the message list. However, a new message which is part of a thread gets
placed into the thread, and the thread does not move to the bottom of

Mbox files are defined as rfc822 mail messages split by a blank line and
a line starting with From_, which is F, r, o, m and a space.
It's possible some of the lines in your mbox file don't follow this
convention, and maybe that's why Evolution is having a hard time parsing
it.
For example, I kno
