After several years of SXSW, I'd say the closer to ACC or 6th Street, the
better. Those are the focus points for all the action. The later in the
day, the more people on 6th Street (which is where all the bars are and a
lot of meetups happen). A 20-minute walk is a looong time. Talks aren't
held on
Was it an intentional choice to schedule it against OSCON? That seems like
a challenge for sponsorships and attendance.
