Is anyone interested in putting together a Maemo port? I'd be willing
to take a look at writing some of the backend (but not the UI...).

Dear orgmode,
This is a terribly odd problem, and I'm not sure how it was prompted
or how to trace it.
When I C-c C-c to save a task to my todo.org from Remember-mode, I am
prompted with the following error:
"org-remember-handler: Symbol's value as variable is void:
org-complex-heading-regexp-f
I recompiled orgmode and the error disappeared. Ghost in the machine, I guess.
Thank you for the pointer,

Dear Friedrich,
What sort of phone do you use? I am looking for a new phone and would
like to use ogmode, of course.
Thanks,

Is it possible to introduce Emacs to people using CUA mode? That may
make the learning curve gentler.
That said, I've found people either take to it or do not, and have not
yet been able to lure those who do not over to our side, even when
they see how nicely my documents are formatted and how eas
Dear list,
I've recently taken the first step toward maintaining my resumé in

to share for how they render resumés (esp. in LaTeX) using orgmode.
Thank you very much,

Dear list,
Sorry to ask a FAQ-type question, but how do I suppress the table of
contents generated in LaTeX files from orgmode? Must I use a custom
class or is there a command I can insert into #+LaTeX_HEADER that will
suppress its generation?
Thank you,

Are you trying to export to BibTeX or simply integrate orgmode with a

If I begin a line with bolded text, like so:
*Case 1:*
it produces the following LaTeX:
\textbf{Case 1:\}
Exporting with C-c C-e d produces an empty LaTeX document.
Is this reproducible? Is it a bug?
Thank you,

Interestingly, my LaTeX also chokes on the sample x.org; while I can
export it, I get the error "The file x.org could not be opened because

occurs using PDFs generated from org, as far as I can tell. I will

work with headlines proper, though.

Dear Bastien,
How odd; it looks like it was, but copying and pasting it from my copy
of the git repository to site-lisp seemed to fix things.
Thank you very much!

I've written a very quick and dirty derived mode for org that

Shift-tab is promote.
Enter is org-insert-heading.
C-tab is the old Shift-Tab
C-j is the old Return.
I know it messes with the default org configuration, which is part of

Has anyone tried using something like the HP Jornada 680? I remember
someone using one to take notes many years ago, and the keyboard
seemed usable and the device tiny. I've been thinking about picking
one up someday for org-type stuff.

Hello, all.
When I am taking lecture notes, they are virtually all bullets, and I
need to quickly demote/promote.
I've written a very, very rough derived mode for org-mode that allows
me to do that more quickly. It's mostly just keyboard shorcuts
redefined so that I can access them faster. It is
Org-mode has virtually replaced a large number of Emacs modes for me.
I haven't even figured out how to communicate to Emacs users and
non-users alike how much it has changed my workflow. Every day it
seems I discover some new feature, or try to hack something on that's
already there.

That's an interesting point. I started using org-mode randomly,
because I was writing an outline and didn't care for outline-mode and
figured org-mode should be compatible. After I'd used it for a couple
outlines, I found it could export to HTML. And LaTeX. And worked as a
day planner...

Dear community,
How do I stick a group of figures together (i.e. so that I have Fig. 1
and then a, b, c)?
Alternatively, is there a way I can keep images inline and yet use
captions? Whenever I add a #+CAPTION:, it's turned into \figure and
floating is turned on.
What I'm trying to do is make a
A table seems to work to force the inlining. For curiosity's sake, is
there a more idiomatic way to do it?

Well, it seems clear that org-mode needs virtualization functionality
so that everyone running PortableApps will already be using orgmode
anyways.

I've written a 1K-word intro on how I use org (for outlining and
