I am not helpful here, but would simply like to add that I would also
love an answer to this, as well as times when italics don't seem to work
around periods and commas, like "and /then,/ well, ..." (which does not
italicize for me on emacs 24.5.1, org 8.2.1).

I'm queried for the title of the drawer and type "test"
The result looks like this:
:testdrawer:
test content
:END:
However, when I put point on :testdrawer: and hit TAB, it doesn't go
through any kind of cycle---just sits there.
What am I doing wrong?

this exact functionality! I'm very
glad to run across this, but as a fairly new emacser, I'm not sure what
to do with this code. I copied it into my init.el, marked it and ran
'eval-region', but what do I call to use the functions? If I can get this
working, I will be using it every day.

Two followup questions:
1. Now when I run "M-x org-babel-lilypond-tangle" I get

I'm an enthusiastic and error-prone new user of emacs (24.3.1) and
org-babel (org 8.2.7c). I've been using lilypond mode in the context of
org-mode documents, using the command "ly-tangle" to typeset music into
midi and pdf files. It's been working great for the past few weeks,
until today ...

I've been learning to export from org to latex (to pdf), and have had
great success. There's a simplification to the process I'd like to make,
though, if it's possible.
Right now I use files: file.org and filestyle.sty. The .sty gives
the latex-specific instruction, and I point to it from file.org

Sffms is located on CTAN (which I'm learning about as I write
this!). I'm running Ubuntu, and believe I have TexLive installed, but
have never tried its package management system.
What's a good way to proceed here?
Thank you!

A program called pdfTex produces a buffer with extensive output,
including:
! LaTeX Error: Missing \begin{document}.
This seems like some markup that should probably be included in my file
automatically as part of the export? Shoud I add "/begin{document}" to
my org doc?
Thank you!

":END:" is colored green by org-mode, but "test" isn't.
And it won't go through any kind of visibility cycle. I've tried [TAB]

emacs 24.3.1 and org 7.9.3f. What am I doing wrong?

LYPOND #END_SRC (and even then, I doubt what
would happen.)
Maybe the answer is "You just have to get used to the way things are,"
which is fine--even that would at least get me thinking about other
problems.
