[Orgmode] How does one get word-wrap to work consistently across platforms?

2009-05-01 Thread Bill Raynor
I have an on-going problem with getting soft-word wrap to work within org-mode. I am using both Aquamacs (org v6.24a) on a macbook and GNU Emacs 23.0.60.1 (org 6.21b) on an XP book (work). In Aquamacs, I have soft-word wrap set to on in options and (setq org-startup-truncated nil) in my configurati

[Orgmode] Installing on windows

I and many others would be grateful for a detailed step-by-step tutorial on installing org-mode on windows. The basic instructions work just fine on, say, OS X (edit makefile, make and make install) but don't work on windows. Using emacs on windows is quite simple (download and install) but updatin

[Orgmode] are elc files portable?

2009-01-16 Thread Bill Raynor
I have several boxes (two macs and one xp - work machine) on which I use org-mode. Can I compile on one and port to the others? They are all intel boxes if that makes a difference. Installing on the macs is a breeze, but XP is a pain, as I don't have cygwin installed there. The two macs are using A

2008-07-28 Thread Bill Raynor
This is a off-topic, but what is the name of the -*- arglist -*- thing at the top of an emacs file (e.g. -*- mode; org; fill-column: 80 -*-)? I would like to look it up, along with its syntax, but I don't know its name... thank you ___ Emacs-orgmode mail

[Orgmode] Upgrading org-mode (in W32)

2008-07-25 Thread Bill Raynor
Hello, I just upgraded my emacs to the current W32 version (GNU Emacs 23.0.60.1) which includes org-mode 6.05a. How do I upgrade org-mode when it is in the ...\emacs\lisp directory? In the past I have just created a new directory in site-lisp and rewrote my .emacs file to point to the new one. Do I

In Carsten's Google Tech Talk, he shows text fields as being nicely indented under the appropriate heading. How do I get that behavior? My text fields all end up against the left margin until I manually input the space. I am currently using org-mode 5.17a in GNU Emacs 22.0.990.1 (W32 version) on w
