it is an old bug.
cycling a trivial entry with text in it seems to have 2 states.
cycling the entry with a list in it seems to have 3 states.
i expect both to have 2 states, unless a variable is set to cycle
lists or it is a no

patch! But before anyone comes screaming I'll just say it's applied on

FYI, I’ve applied a patch that will make it easier to change the default
without breaking any existing functionality. I.e. we can avoid breakage for
existing attachment-folders if we at some point in the future would choose to
change default for ID’s to timestamp.
