I haven't tried debugging this one, and I'm still not sure how I figured out the problem. I accidentally set org-agenda-files to a directory "~/.orgs" rather than (list "~/.orgs"). So something tried to read the directory as a list of files... And then org-remember breaks in utterly confusing wa
