Only problem is - it seemed like a huge pain in the arse to get Ubuntu

I'm all for generic names. It's much nicer for users, and feels better. I
mean "Internet" or "Web" is much nicer to me than "Midori".

If anyone has any spare time in the coming week, we could do a Hangout on
Air to address any questions people may have about Luna. We need to make
sure that this ran more smoothly than the attempt at Hangout number 2, so
we need a list of who's doing it (if anyone at all)

I'm all for just going the GNOME Direction and calling it "Music". This
applies to all other apps (some are already like this, such as Files and
Terminal). It is just so much simpler for the user to see something like
"Web" rather than "Midori" (which has nothing to do with the web).
So yeah, "Mus

Greetings,
Are we doing another one? The first one was pretty successful, and while a
second one was planned, it ended up being about 2 or 3 people before I had
to cancel it.
Reply if you would want to be involved with #2 - there's a lot to focus on
about the release and that :)

Yep, that was the inspiration. It was more of a concept than anything that
was going to be made 1:1 in L+1. I'll come up with some more concepts for
this later this afternoon.

Dude no need to be a dick about it. It's a valid question! I don't think it
could be included since it isn't native software and doesn't follow the
HIG. Looks like a cool app though :)

er.
We should ideally try to do this before Luna, since the AppMenu is such a
core part of the OS, and we don't want to alienate the flocks of new Luna
users in L+1 by changing it then ;)
Thoughts?

I'm thinking that we could do a weekly/fortnightly Google+ Hangout on Air
(like a live video podcast) about elementary.
We could first start off with any news or interesting items, then talk
about concepts that we are thinking about, and then maybe answer some
questions (kind of like an "Email In"
Well the name in the about box is just gonna be "Mail" too. It will
probably have some elementary copyrights underneath showing that it is in
fact out Mail app, and not Ubuntu or GNOME's.
Anyway, it will probably be evident just from looking at it that it belongs
to elementary.

In the long run (L+1 or even L+2), I want there to be no difference between
an open and closed app. Computers are fast enough now (esp. with Luna) that
you don't really notice the extra delay when you open an app rather than
restoring from Minimize.
I also want apps to save their state for when you
I want all the apps to be named what they do, so Dexter becomes Contacts,
Noise becomes Music, Midori becomes Web etc.
It's so much easier for the users, and is what they'd expect. iOS and
Android, OSX and GNOME all follow this trend, and while we aren't ones for

Well since Plank no longer has "app open" indicators, we are trying to
remove the distinction between open and closed apps (like on mobile
platforms) because it simply isn't relevant any more. This means that users
will have a combination of "open" and "closed" apps stored in their dock,
and the on
I was thinking this the other day. I do use it (for Empathy chats), but I
wish I didn't have to.
Empathy does support both notify-osd and Plank Badges, so we really don't
need it. (As long as Geary also supports these two features by release)
