Hi,
Julian suggested a new template without using the word 'template', so here
it is. Now it uses "HelloWorld" as a project name and it can be easily
changed using the script 'set_project_name.sh'.
For example, to create a new application named 'sky':
- Decompress the template
- mv helloworld sk
Hi,
Thanks to Julien's proposal I have created and "empty" project template
(the one attached it to this email). I hope it helps someone to begin with
new projects.
This project uses the word "template" not only in filenames but also inside
files.
In the project there is one script named 'set_pr

Hi,
Here are more ideas:
- Do not mix threads with async methods, sometimes GUI is fluid with async
and threads are not necessary. Maybe both concepts are interesting for your
research.
- Pantheon-files has parallelizing problems with thumbnails and top
navigation bar animations (I am not sure i
How can we test it?
I want to run Luna on Raspberry and document it, can I install Raspbian and
then add the elementary ppa?

You can find non Vala applications at the software center, you can sell
applications written in "whatever" language as long as they run properly.
It is just that you application won't benefit of the Elementary + Granite +

In my opinion blessing other languages will create fragmentation. Developers
from one application won't be able to help other applications because of the
different language. We have a lot of examples, pantheon-files is one of them
but also external libraries that doesn't really fit.

Hi,
Before talking about testing, and advanced development techniques for teams
with resources, there is one easy and simple thing we can do to accelerate
development.
Sometimes (very often), bugs are stopped due spaces not following the "code
style" guidelines. Adding a "code style" validator

a kind of nexus. Both names sound very melancholics.

I like the idea of a "semi" rolling release. Software like "Geary" or
"Files" can't be frozen during the whole next cycle, can you imagine not
receiving the "search mail" update until Luna+1?
Right now I don't feel like Elementary is Beta, yes there are bugs that
must be fixed, but it is great to
