Well after waiting almost 4 months it seems the US distributor that I ordered
my 2k-fa amp from has gone qrt, permanently (Expert Amps USA). I chose them
over the other US distributor because I though they looked more stable. Bad
choice but it brought me to the realization of the dangers when de
es it
has. With just a fan dipole I have worked 230 / confirmed 220 and many is the
time where I can clearly hear and work very weak signals when no other east
coast stations are calling them.
It just works. No problems, no issues other than there are no issues 😊. Just a
great radio!

It may be better to use an RF sensing switch or mechanical tie rather than
software. Any latency via software could damage or destroy your gear. SW
controlled switches in my view need to be tightly integrated to prevent
potential damage.

I will do that. I do have pin 8 shorted to ground through another rs-232
port and that is for my remoting my K3 as a remote. I use the K3/0 mini a
lot when I travel and other people do also. I will look at the pin 8
arrangement.

Am about halfway through stuffing the circuit board. Installed most
of the caps, ICs, resistors.
A few parts, I put off installing because they are at the very edg

suppression. If it's nulled out for LSB, it's not for USB. The nulls
are in different places on the pot. I guess you set a compromise
position, and make sure the carrier is off the skirts of the filter, so
that can help.

Power supplies are like octopi - with tentacles going into every part

No guarantees of course - but when seemingly unrelated stuff starts
failing, that's where I look first.
guess the obvious fix is to operate the exciter at full power

work. Have to pack stuff up, haul it off to the shipping store, freak
