Hi Juliean -
Welcome to the hobby. You're starting off with the best. Yes, you can use your
computer headset. The K3s has an 8-band equalizer for both receive and

My Ameritron RCS-12 automagic antenna switch is sulking, and not switching the
remote RCS-10.
I'm thinking of replacing it with a KRC2 pre-built. Is anyone using it with a
K3 and the Ameritron remote box? How difficult to configure it to work from the
K3 ACC with the RCS-10?
The manual has the
s be used for? Perhaps alternate antennas for a band,

On my K3/P3, I get a rise when the cursor crosses a screen boundary. Lasts a
second or so.

I'm confused. I was with Harlan, that a config file from another serial number
wouldn't load. Has something changed with the K3S? How about K3 to K3?

I found this on Nabble. Wayne?
No. Some of what is saved is rig-specific VCO calibration data

The K3S has so much audio tailoring built in, pretty much any mic, when
properly set up, will garner good audio reports. There's no need to spend cubic
dollars on microphones.

After trying several Mac logging programs when switching from Windoze, RUMLog
is the clear winner for me. Focus on what meets your logging needs, they all
support Th K-series as far as control goes.
RUMLog ties in well with fldigi for digital modes, has a really good interface
to LoTW and clust
Yes the SteppIR will follow the radio. I don't have a KPA500 so cannot answer
that one.

Well, the K3 IS a very sensitive rig.

I tend to try to save a few bux by buying used older gear. My XYL always tells
me that's false economy because at some point I'll want newer/better and won't
get much out of the dented scratched boat-anchors.
She's SO wise.

If that is Toyota's business model, the yes, of course. It is Elecraft's model,
so it's not unreasonable to expect it. It was a big part of my buying decision.

My ACCY plug (which I'm almost sure came from Elecraft) has two Phillips head
screws on one side for taking the shell apart. They're black, and easily
overlooked.

When I power up the K3, it shows ERR BPF2. Pushing any button causes the
message to go away.
The manual says to *De Install the KBPF3.
I don't want to get rid of my KBPF3. What does the asterisk refer to?

It cost $63.34 to ship my K3 from Florida to California and $56.00 to ship it
back. UPS + insurance.
