I have a couple of phones that I just put month-to-month sim cards from
Ting into. They're served by T-Mobile. One of my old phones is definitely
getting obsoleted out, but that's fine, it's an ancient 2g "Feature Phone"

If I'm wrong and the T320 isn't the VoLTE that's safe for now, I guess I'll
just have to get something more up to date. *shrug*

I have a KX3/PX3 shack at home, and rarely, if ever, take my KX3 into the
field. (I know, it's a field rig, but it's also pretty darned 'spensive!) I
have lots of other rigs for field use, some of which I built. For me,
that's half the fun. But I ADORE my KX3 at home. Because of my particular

I started using a corrosion-inhibiting lube on my PL-259s, and religiously
sealing them with Coax-Seal. I tighten them very tightly as well. Since I
started doing that, I have no odd failures or intermittent connections in
my feedlines.

I'm holding out for the KX9, the one with noetic circuits printed directly
on the space-time continuum. It's fantastic, but the K9S has the
hyperspatial roofing filter system that filters out bad intent from a CW
sender's subconscious.

This post just made my memory flash on a movie quote: "Meet me at the Cafe
Friedrichstrasse."
It's from an 80's era movie called "Gotcha!"

It was the code phrase set up between the main characters to tell one of
them to get out of East Berlin right away. It's
I use Win4K3Suite with my KX3, and it will at least shut OFF the radio from
the software. What it won't do is turn it back ON.
As I understand it, what the two-button method is designed to do is to make
sure the radio saves its current state before it shuts down. If you turn it
off via the power l
The solar panel automatically deploys if the internal matter/antimatter

This just makes Fred's books that much more valuable. Now they're something
to remember him by, his legacy. As I usually do in such sad times, I will
remember Fred fondly, and read for him the Heart Sutra's culmination...
