The Acom 1000 uses a vacuum relay for switching. I found that using the
standard T/R delay of 5ms led to some complaints of key clicks. So I use

Strictly speaking, the term "balanced tuner" should not be used for ATUs

highly reactive or mismatched loads, the balun could give rise to
significant losses.
A true balanced tuner has the balun at the input where, once

One thing that seems to work fairly well is that if you have the 2nd
RX, you can have both on AM, but shift the 2nd RX by around 2.7kHz or
2.8kHz with respect to the 1st RX. In effect, it gives you AM
bandwidth of about 5.6kHz. Of course that means you don't get diversity RX.

Absolutely Mel. One of the skills is getting engineers to put themselves
in the shoes of users and put aside much of the technical detail they
know so intimately and tell a story without assuming the reader is an
equal expert in the subject matter. In the software industry, it can be
quite hard

This is a known issue with HRD used with the K3. It happens with me a
few times a week with my K3+P3. Reducing the polling rate of the K3 in

The choice seems to be either put up it, or stop using HRD. Simon Brown
