Pete,
I had a similar problemon lower end of 80 meters. Fix for me was to ground
outer jacket of all antenna cables where they enter the house. This eliminated
common mode current coming into the shack on a second coax.
Check your RX antenna cable, which does not go through the RCS-12.

are better off leaving the
KPA1500 in bypass.

The issue with the internal tuner in Peter’s case is SWR will be high enough to
cause necessary power reduction. (Max power will be reduced. )
The HF Auto allows for slightly higher power at same SWR presented to tuner.

Also, is there an easy way to also toggle the amp between operate and standby?
Would be nice to write an app for a Smartphone, either Apple or Android (I
carry both).

Pete,
I am still planning on stopping by after work around 3:30 unless I can get out
earlier.
I’m sure a second set of eyes will help.

The point is under certain conditions it is NOT a low power mode.

Jorge,
With the KPA1500 you do not use the radio internal tuner.
Use the tuner built in the KPA1500.

I use them to toggle between fan speed 0 and fan speed 1.

I can wait until tomorrow. Won’t bother them on Sunday.
The symptom this time is different than last. Last time was amp acting like
tuner not tuned. This time showing excessive input power even though actual
power is fine.
Let’s see what happens.
