I just finished building my KPA100 and it is quite happy in the K2 at

I used a couple of junkbox diodes and made sure that they matched as

I just finished building k2/100 #5884 with KDSP2, KNB, KAT100-1, K60XV,
K160RX and KSB2 adapter.
As also a former electronic tech (FCC 1st phone, 2nd telegraph w/radar
endorsement, TEA CET in Audio, radio/television & industrial
electronics, a couple of year board repair of mini computers,
Have recently put together K2/100 #5884.
I hope this is not too presumptive of me, but I have a few suggestions.
These are things I would do in the future, that I did NOT do this time:
1) I would buy at least 4 different colors of 'nail polish' to use in
color coding those little brown monolyt

Some good ideas - If I did it again
I had a similar problem, yesterday.
I just built K2/100 #5884 and everything was ok until I started
alignment of the KPA100. After a few minutes of getting normal output at
5 watts, I suddenly started getting 'High Current', intermittently on 7
MHz, then on every band.
Dropped back to signal
Very disappointed to see NO cw operations on Armed Forces Day.
I remember the fun of working NSS, AIR and WAR on cw and getting their
QSL card. Had hoped to hear them pounding brass again. It was also fun
to copy the Sec. of Def.'s Broadcast on CW and get a certificate for that.
