To get the BFO range I needed for RTTY, not only did I have to pad
C173 and 4, but after I had added maximum capacitance there, I went
ahead and added 2 pF to pull the crystal. I have not noticed any
stability problems, and the BFO range is just about perfect.

dB) null off the ends), but it works better than anything else I've
put up.
The shunt-fed tower is only 1/10 wavelength long on 160m, but I've
gotten 43 states confirmed and 10 countries using 100 w

currently considering adding a small pre-amp circuit and going back
to the 1 k resistor for R14.

Chen that will key a serial port pin (DTR)
when it is time to key the transmitter. Works great with Cocoamodem.
I've also used the K2 with MMTTY and N1MM software. N1MM is
interesting that it can key the transmitter with a serial port
command (not just DTR), and that seems to work pretty
in noise
S1 -- I know you're there, but too weak to get more than occasional
letters.
This is exactly what I do! My S5 is a bit higher, but, yeah, if
there's any indication on the S-meter, you are S5, easy.
